Description
USS Duluth LPD 6 was an Austin-class Amphibious Transport Dock, built by New York Naval Shipyard. Commissioned in 1965, it played a key role in amphibious operations and logistics support. Named after Duluth, Minnesota, the ship was decommissioned in 2005 and laid up at NAVSEA Inactive Ships Facility. Its motto, "Fortiter in Re" (Bold in Action), reflects its distinguished service.
