The USS Ponce (LPD 15), an Austin-class Amphibious Transport Dock, was built by Lockheed Shipbuilding and Construction in Seattle, Washington. Commissioned in 1971, it served in various roles, including redesignation as Afloat Forward Staging Base (AFSB(I)-15) in 2012. The ship is named after the City of Ponce, Puerto Rico. Homeported at Norfolk, Virginia, the USS Ponce is an active unit of the U.S. Navy, supporting amphibious and maritime operations.
