The USS Paul F. Foster (DD 964) was a Spruance-class destroyer, built by Ingalls Shipbuilding. Commissioned in 1976, the ship played a vital role in defense operations before being decommissioned in 2003. After service, it was redesignated as the Self Defense Test Ship (SDTS). Named in honor of Vice Admiral Paul Frederick Foster, the USS Paul F. Foster embodied the values of "HONOR - VALOR - SERVICE" throughout its distinguished career.
