Description
The USS Ogden (LPD 5) was an Austin-class Amphibious Transport Dock built by the New York Naval Shipyard. Commissioned in 1965 and decommissioned in 2007, the ship supported amphibious operations and humanitarian missions. Named after Ogden, Utah, it was stationed at Naval Station San Diego and later laid up in Pearl Harbor. Its motto, "FLEXIBLE RESPONSE," reflects the ship's readiness for versatile military operations. The USS Ogden is scheduled to be sunk as a target in the Pacific.
