USS Valley Forge (CG 50) was a Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser, built by Ingalls Shipbuilding in Pascagoula, Mississippi. Commissioned in 1986, this powerful vessel served the U.S. Navy until its decommissioning in 2004. Named after the historic winter encampment at Valley Forge during the American Revolution, it played a key role in naval defense before being sunk as a target off Kauai, Hawaii in 2006.
